**2. Temperature Matters:** Extreme heat is a battery’s worst enemy. Avoid leaving your MacBook in direct sunlight or a hot car. Likewise, extreme cold isn’t great either. Try to keep it in a moderate temperature range.

**8. Check Battery Health:** macOS has a built-in battery health indicator. Go to System Preferences > Battery > Battery (on the left) and click “Battery Health.” It will tell you the maximum capacity of your battery and whether it’s functioning normally.

**9. Calibrate (If Necessary):** Apple used to recommend calibrating your battery regularly, but it’s less critical with modern batteries. However, if you notice significant discrepancies in battery percentage reporting, you can try calibrating it. There are instructions online on how to do this. Note, this is different for newer macbooks versus older ones. It’s always best to consult your macbook model to find out how to do so.
